AJ Johnson is firming as a potential NBA Draft selection, working out with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Minnesota Timberwolves have confirmed AJ Johnson was in a group of prospects to work out with the club today, ahead of the side’s three picks in the upcoming NBA Draft.

The Timberwolves currently hold a late first round and two second round selections for the draft, and currently lead the Denver Nuggets 2-0 in their Playoff Series.

Johnson is one of the youngest players in this year’s draft. He has been compared to Portland’s Anfernee Simons and ranked 29th in the draft class by The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie.

Five NBL24 Next Stars – including Johnson – have received invites to the Draft Combine, while Mantas Rubstavicius will take his talents to the G-League Elite Camp in the hopes of earning an invite of his own.

The NBA Draft will be held on June 27.
