Alexandre Sarr

NBA Draft Projection:

Alexandre Sarr

Power Forward/Center

Apr 26, 2005

Alexandre Sarr has already made history as the first Next Star in the history of the Perth Wildcats, and as it stands, he could make further history by being the highest drafted Next Star in the history of the program.

Sarr graduated from the Overtime Elite program and has brought his talents to the NBL, where over the course of the first six rounds of the season. he has established himself as a genuine top three selection-calibre player.

Before commencing his NBL24 journey Sarr impressed against the NBA G-League Ignite during the Wildcats' pre-season tour of the USA, and finished as a runner-up at the FIBA U17 World Cup, where he finished as the competition's most efficient player (in PER).

He also earned All-OTE Second Team honours as a member of YNG Dreamerz last season.

Sarr said: “Choosing the Perth Wildcats was a no-brainer. They have a plan for me and I can see myself playing for the Perth Wildcats and being impactful on the court. I just hope for it to be a great season, I want to win.”

What the Experts Say

"Alex’s youth, athleticism and potential is what attracted us, as they were attributes we wanted to address in the off-season. He will bring length, rim protection, and a new dimension to our defence we haven’t had, while his natural offensive skills will be a natural fit.”

John Rillie
Perth coach

"He’s one of the better big prospects in a class that’s loaded with depth in the front-court. The mobile big is extremely skilled and can play either the four or five spot effectively. By the time the night of the 2024 NBA Draft comes around, Sarr will have just turned 19. He has a solid frame for his age which will allow him to add quite a bit of strength and mass in the coming years … when Sarr catches the ball on the perimeter, he is comfortable putting the ball on the floor or shooting from beyond the arc. This is what makes him unique and a great fit in the modern NBA."

Sports Illustrated

"I have no doubt Alexandre will build on the strong NBL careers of his fellow countrymen and grow his NBA prospects. Joining the NBL’s most successful club, the Wildcats, will be of immense benefit to Alexandre’s development, as he immerses himself in a professional environment with a fantastic set of coaches and teammates."
