Following the selection of Justinian Jessup with the 51st pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors elected to send their newest asset to the NBL in the hopes of developing his game to an NBA standard.

Overall, Jessup played 68 games in two years for the Hawks – including starting all 30 games for the title-chasing side in NBL22 – and averaged 13.2 points as a sharpshooter for Brian Goorjian’s men.

He then departed the league to play professionally in Spain, but has now been announced as an import for the New Zealand Breakers ahead of the NBL24 season.

Breakers coach Mody Maor said: "Justinian has elite shooting skills, but I’ve always thought there was a lot more to him. We believe he can become a much more complete player at the Breakers; we believe he can take another step towards being a playmaker and creator and not just be pegged as a shooter. Justinian feels the same way.”
